Engaging, equipping and mobilizing Christian men to glorify God through prayer and service.

Pray

Developing men of prayer and action who will impact their churches, families and community for Christ.

prayerBeginning in the spring of 2000, two men began to meet at the site of their church to worship and pray together for covering over their church, families, their communities and each other.  15 years later, they continue to do the same, but 35-40 men have since joined them, as they continue to meet on a weekly basis.

Since that day 15 years ago, 21 other men’s prayer groups have been established in churches all over the cities of Fresno/Clovis and beyond.  These prayer groups have truly become men’s ministries in and of themselves.  Why do we say this?

A successful men’s ministry fosters a blend of the following; encouragement, transparency, brotherhood, inclusiveness, accountability and discipleship.  What takes place at each prayer group on a weekly basis incorporates each and every one of these components.

I’ve had a front row seat over these last 15 years to watch God answer literally hundreds and hundreds of prayers, and additionally watched the lives of men become transformed as they find a deep intimacy with Him through worshipping, confessing, and seeking the very face of God.

The apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 2:8 tells us this; “I want men everywhere to pray, to lift up holy hands, without anger or disputing.”  Prayer is vitally important to the Christian community, whether it be a brand new believer, or a senior pastor.  Prayer should be as important to us as the very air we breathe.

James 5:16 says; “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”  If this is true, what does that equate to as hundreds and even thousands gather in unity to pray?  Does that have the effectual power to literally transform states, cities, churches, families; even a nation?  Without a doubt!

My recommendation to every ministry, whether men’s or women’s, would be to make prayer the very centerpiece of what they do.  As we draw close to God, He promises to draw close to us.  It’s in those times of humility, crying out to God in reverence, that He joins us and pours into us everything we need to get His will accomplished in and through us.

Goal:
